Kate Dawes

Kate holds a Diploma of SMP from Goldeneye, awarded in 2011, and completed her Masters in SMP with Scalp Micro USA's Matt Iulo in January 2017. She is also an accredited and registered Trichologist with the International Association of Trichologists, which means she assesses the scalp and hair loss itself, not only the pigment work. She has presented at Australian and international conferences, including the ISHRS World Congress workshop in Bangkok.

Kate holds a Certificate in Trichology with the International Association of Trichologists, earned in 2012, and is one of only four IAT-registered trichologists in Western Australia. Trichology is the study of the hair and scalp, so the qualification means Kate assesses the cause and pattern of hair loss, in both men and women, rather than looking at the scalp purely as a canvas.

Kate practises from the Foli Sim Perth studio at Level 1, Suite 2/135 High Street Mall, Fremantle, Western Australia. It is one of three Health Department certified Foli Sim studios, alongside Double Bay in Sydney and North Melbourne in Victoria. Kate has trained extensively in SMP both in Australia and overseas. She earned her Diploma of Scalp Micropigmentation with Goldeneye in 2013 under a leading European industry expert, and in January 2017 travelled to New York City to complete her Master's training with Matt Iulo of Scalp Micro USA, one of the most respected SMP specialists in the United States.

Kate has more than thirty years of experience in the Australian hair industry. Those three decades of work with human hair and hair loss are what established her as a trusted authority in diagnosis and treatment, and they inform the way she reads a scalp, plans a hairline and sets expectations with a client before any pigment is placed.

Yes. Kate is frequently invited to share her expertise at national and international events. She presented at the International Association of Trichologists conference in Brisbane in 2015, and has since appeared at the 2019 Olympia Beauty Finishing Touches Boot Camp in London and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery's World Congress Live Surgery Workshop in Bangkok.
